Jump Ireland has designed a trip for the true equestrian in
mind!
| You will be part of a
small select group invited to join us for one of the world's top equestrian events: The The
Royal Dublin Horse Show
August 2002. You
will join our friends, horse owners and competitors behind the
scenes; a privilege reserved for a special few. With over a hundred years of history and tradition, the Royal Dublin Horseshow is the social event of the year. |
|
Dublin is also full of fine restaurants as well as wonderful shops. And there
will be plenty of time to explore this interesting city. We will include side
trips to some of Ireland's most important ancient sights, and will have a chance to visit some of Irelands most beautiful countryside.
|
For the first portion of our tour, we will stay on the grounds of a private castle in Co.
Galway. Lough Cutra Castle is a private home and not open to the
general public. The 1,200 acres of grounds host a fantastic cross
country course built by the legendary course designer and Olympic rider; Tommy
Brennan. Brennan was given free reign to design a course for the owner, an avid horsewoman, and he boasts it's his best course to date! We agree. |
 |
Our clinics are organized to allow for enough time to see some sights as well
as train. We also will have use of the lake itself, the largest privately
owned lake in Europe. Pike fishing and boating can be arranged.
Our "Tour" begins Friday August 2nd and includes:
6 nights luxury accommodation.
Continental breakfasts
Two evening meals
Kitchen available
All ground transportation
Exclusive use of Lough Cutra Castle grounds, PRIVATE cross-country
course and lake.
4 day customized clinic with Aidan
O'Connell
Sight seeing, shopping, pubs and nightlife (including driver)
We meet up with
Aidan O'Connell on Saturday Aug. 3rd through Aug. 6th
(4days):
We have arranged a wonderful dinner with a chance to discuss our training
with Aidan. To pick his brain, so to speak, as he will kindly give his time
for us to ask questions.
We spend quite a lot of time with Aidan on theory, as well as the practical and physical aspects of riding.

*In praise of Aidan O'Connell
I had the greatest time at this clinic!! Mr. O'Connell set up the exerciseswell to allow for a comfortable progression from easy to difficult. We did
our first drop fence ever -- it was fun & only a little scary the first time
(This was a fence I'd opted out of on a hunter pace earlier this fall).
Mr. O'Connell's clinic was deceptively simple -- he got to the root of the
questions & conveyed the rider's answers in very understandable language.
He made sure to discuss how riding cross-country was different from riding in
the ring, which was particularly helpful to someone like me that has
mostly ridden in the ring. Aidan really stressed safety and safe-minded
riding. As a self-employed mother of 2, I especially appreciated this aspect
of the clinic.
Please convey my thanks & appreciation to Mr. O'Connell.

I can't say enough in praise of Aidan O'Connell and his teaching skills!
I would recommend that anyone wanting to improve their skill and technique
Cross-country will gain a better understanding and new confidence in a safe
and fun environment . . . .
Everything you said about his clinics is true! I especially admired his
attention to
safety. He teaches how to cross ditches, banks and jump downhill, using
techniques that give you the optimum percentage of safety. And he made it
all fun!
